Despite Fed officials emphasizing rate hikes, the Nasdaq 100 surged by 800 basis points.

Chinese Vice Finance Minister Liao Min, speaking briefly outside JPMorgan’s headquarters in New York, said Monday’s talks focused on implementing the consensus reached by the chief negotiators of China and the United States.

Meta’s Muse AI agent quickly rose to the top of Apple’s free app rankings shortly after its launch earlier this month, with this strong debut helping to restore market confidence in artificial intelligence trading.

As of Monday, Muse ranked number one on both the free app charts of Apple’s iOS App Store and Google Play. According to Abe Yousef, senior insights analyst at Sensor Tower, the smart assistant aimed at users aged 18 and older achieved over 902,000 downloads within six days of Meta’s release on September 8. He added that this figure surpassed the download count of its predecessor, the Meta AI app, during the same period (773,000).

Meta’s stock surged 11% on Monday, closing at its highest level since last October—the largest gain since April 2025. Prior to today’s rally, the stock had remained nearly flat year-to-date.

Muse’s early success also boosted share prices of some of Meta’s key suppliers, particularly microprocessor manufacturers. AMD shares jumped nearly 10%, pushing its market value above the $1 trillion mark. Intel rose 12%, while Arm Holdings Plc surged 17%.

Despite continued hawkish remarks from Federal Reserve officials, the enthusiasm for tech stocks persisted. The Nasdaq 100 index surged above 30,600, approaching its previous record high of 30,700.

On Monday, Fed official Musalem stated that due to strong demand and commodity price pressures extending beyond oil, the Fed might need to further raise interest rates to curb inflation. He emphasized that it would be better for the central bank to act early rather than wait.
