Gold prices remained down as elevated oil prices intensified inflation concerns and clouded the Federal Reserve’s rate hike path.
Gold traded around $4,135 per ounce, down 0.6% from the previous trading day. Iran stated it had “no choice” but to control the Strait of Hormuz, pushing oil prices near five-month highs. Meanwhile, U.S. lawmakers opposed President Trump’s diesel export deal with Russia.
Traders are trying to anticipate the Fed’s next move in curbing inflation. Ahead of next week’s central bank meeting, Fed Chair Kevin Warsh used the “information blackout” period to hint at support for keeping interest rates unchanged. This has led markets to cut their odds of a 25-basis-point rate hike to below 20%, down sharply from two-thirds at the end of last month.
Last week, technology stock indices posted their largest drop since April 2025, temporarily reigniting investor demand for U.S. Treasuries as a hedge against equity losses.
Gennady Goldberg, head of U.S. interest rate strategy at TD Securities, said: “Given recent sharp sell-offs and rebounds, market positioning remains quite unstable, deterring many investors and amplifying daily volatility.”
This week, the artificial intelligence sector faces new tests, with major tech companies including Meta Platforms Inc. and Tesla set to release earnings reports.
Frederick Neumann, chief Asia economist at HSBC Holdings, said: “The overnight rebound in U.S. tech stocks did not carry over into Asia. Investors remain risk-averse, with rising bond yields and persistently high energy prices as key concerns. Moreover, the sustainability of the AI asset rally continues to be questioned, as higher financing costs could lead to project delays or cancellations.”
Plugin Case Examples
Gold: Last Friday, our plugin clearly provided a green buy limit signal, which performed well. We also offered a yellow signal to sweep liquidity and capture the rebound, which was equally effective. Today, we focus on potential buying opportunities after price reclaims 4,150. Additionally, if offshore markets sweep around 4,115, we will provide another yellow signal.

Nasdaq: Price consolidated yesterday around the 29,500/29,600 zone without clear direction. Today, we wait for a momentum signal; once price recovers above 29,650, we will place a blue buy limit order.

Crude Oil: Prices may continue expanding higher. Today’s key liquidity zone is between 97 and 97.50—watch for rebound signals following a sweep.
